More Details: The First Queen Anne Victorian in the World 23 miles north of I-95 and 27 miles south of Moosehead Lake On a hill dominating a little mill town in the heart of the Highland/Lakes Region of central Maine sits an architectural treasure known as the Trebor Mansion Inn. Built in 1830 and once owned by a United States Senator, the Trebor Mansion's origins are shrouded in mystery. Although it was widely held by the locals to be "haunted", and didn't even have electricity and plumbing in the main structure until 1976, the Trebor Mansion was reborn as an Inn on February 6th, 1978. The original woodwork and stained glass windows were preserved, and it is still crowned by its original slate roof. Today the Mansion's elegant guest rooms welcome travelers from all over the world.
